Charles I (1625-1649), Crown, Exeter mint, 1645, mintmark castle both sides, outer and inner beaded circles, legend surrounds CAROLVS DG MAG BRI FRA ET HI REX, armoured King on horseback left with upright sword. Rev, reads CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO 1645, oval quartered garnished shield, 30.02g (S.3062; N.2561; Brooker 1042-45). Overall good very fine and a pleasing example. Struck on a slightly irregular flan as so often found.
