VIKING INLAID GAMING PIECE

8th-10th century AD. A lead cylinder-shaped weight with a panel of millefiori coloured glass embedded to the upper surface, perhaps a fragment of Anglo-Saxon or Scandinavian glass bead; multicoloured bead in blue-black, maroon-red and cream-white. This piece would have been used in the board-game hnefatafl.
