A Gordon Russell 'Stow' oak chest of four drawers, design No. 609, the drawer fronts with chamfered fronts and laburnum carved handles, flanked with octagonal columns carved with rectangular details, the carcass with chip carved details, panelled sides and cedar-lined drawers , labelled ‘The Russell Workshops Broadway Worcs This piece of furniture design No. 609, was made throughout The Gordon Russell Workshops Broadway Worcestershire Designer: Gordon Russell Foreman: Edgar Turner Cabinet Maker: S.G. Gilbert Timber used English oak Laburnum handles’, 75.5cm wide 49.5cm deep 91.5cm high Provenance: The Estate of Fiona MacCarthy (1940-2020).
