Chang Jiang Motorcycle Combination Model CJ750DReg. no. Not registeredFrame no. 5908323Engine no. NF2P 78 FMV-2 59060391Chang Jiang means long river and was the name given to the Russian built Ural M-72 after China took over production in the 50s. The Chang Jiang 750 is basically a copy of the Ural M-72 equipped with a 4-stroke, 746cc flat twin side valve flat head engine that is built on the same principle as the original BMW boxer engine. These bikes came in three versions the M1 the M1M and the overhead valve M1S. All were shaft driven and the M1M and the M1S had 12-volt electrics and a reverse gear that made it a very maneuverable combination for a solo rider. This combination has come from a deceased estate and has not been used for several years. The engine turns over, using the kickstart but the bike only has one carburetor, so no attempt has been made to start it. New Chang Jiang motorcycles are still available to buy in the UK and the Cossack Owners Club is an excellent friendly club for help and information.Comes with - an illustrated parts catalogue, an instruction manual and keysEstimate: £1,000 – 1,500To be auctioned along with a fantastic selection of other vehicles on March 5th at our Showell Farm site, SN15 2NU.
