A rare decorated dhal dating: 18th Century provenance: India, Interesting, rigid structure in boiled, semitransparent leather, of circular and convex shape, provided with slightly relieved border. Front surface richly decorated. A hand-painted disk in the center, in relief with concentric circles, with frames alternated with red and green flowers on a brown ground and gilded on a white ground. Painted, gold-color beams around the disk, and four, strongly relieved studs, in gilded metal, three hemispherical, engraved with flowers and ending in a small, green, cabochon stone. One stud with a crescent, whose ends are composed of animal's heads facing each other. Holes for a fifth stud above, not present. The border is covered by hand-painted frames that resume the theme of the central disk (some part of the color is missing and small signs of use). The back with remains of antique padded liner and four rings for enarmes. diameter 57 cm.
