MAUPASSANT (Guy de).

Paris : at the expense and for the members of the Bibliophiles de l'Academie des Beaux-livres, 1891-1892. - 10 works in one large volume in-8, 265 x 178. Havana half-maroquin with corners, spine decorated with gilt fillets and gilt motifs on a mosaic background of dark green morocco, gilt head, untrimmed, covers and spine preserved (Rene Kieffer).
Complete collection of the 10 tales of Maupassant published by the Societe des Bibliophiles de l'Academie des beaux-livres. It consists of a cover, a false title and a title, accompanied by a frontispiece in colors by Paul AVRIL after Felicien ROPS, followed by the 10 following titles, each with its particular cover:
- The Wolf. History of hunting. November 1891. - (2 ff.), 12 pp, (2 blank ff.).
Entirely engraved edition, illustrated with 15 aquatint etchings by Everet Louis Von MUYDEN (1853-1922), including one on the title, 12 bands, a lettering and a cul-de-lampe. The text was engraved with a burin by A. Leclere.
- Hautot pere & fils. 1892. - (2 ff.), 20 pp. 3 plates.
Edition illustrated with 12 compositions by Georges JEANNIOT, including 3 hors texte, most of them in colors, retouched with etching and burin by Henry Manesse and printed in polychrome intaglio by the Wittmann company.

Edition illustrated with 2 colored chapter headings and 2 cameo caps, engraved by Paul AVRIL.
- Mouche. Souvenir d'un Canotier. 1892. - (2 ff.), 20 pp.
Entirely engraved edition, illustrated on each page with a composition by Ferdinand GUELDRY engraved on copper by Fillon. The text was engraved with a burin by A. Leclere.

Edition illustrated with 25 watercolors by Pierre VIDAL in the text, engraved by Helle and Ruckert, and colored by Grenengaire.
- An evening. 1892. - (2 ff.), 27 pp.
Edition illustrated with 28 compositions by Georges SCOTT, engraved on wood by D. Quesnel and Duplessis.
- The Field of Olive Trees. 1892. - (2 ff.), 34 pp, (1 f.), 3 plates.
Edition illustrated with 9 compositions by Paul GERVAIS, including 3 chapter headings, 3 culs-de-lampe and 3 hors-texte, heliographed and drawn in intaglio by Boussod and Valadon.
- Mademoiselle Fifi. 1892. - frontispiece, (2 ff.), 22 pp, (1 f.), 3 plates.
Edition illustrated with 22 compositions by A. Gerardin and Charles Morel of which 18 in the text, woodcut by Jules Tinayre and 4 hors texte engraved on copper by Helle. Copy enriched with the plate in colors which was given to the members after the publication.
- L'Epave. 1892. - (2 ff.), 17 pp, (1 blank f.).
Unillustrated edition. Copy enriched with 6 original lithographs on japan, by Alexandre LUNOIS, five of them with remarks.
- A part of campaign. 1892. - (2 ff.), 18 pp, (1 blank f.).
Unillustrated edition. Copy enriched with a color etching by Henri BOUTET, which was given to the members after the publication.
The edition was, according to Vicaire, 188 copies on watermarked vellum with the name of the author and of the collection, not put in the market.
This copy bears the number 8; it was specially printed for Mr. Andre Bellemain. It has been enriched with the prospectus printed on blue paper sent to the members, as well as a greeting card by Octave Uzanne for the year 1892, engraved after a composition by Felicien Rops.
A very nice copy in Rene Kieffer's binding.
The first cover of the first novel is lined with Japanese paper. Tear without missing and restored to the first cover of the news Un soir.
